UnitedHealth Group announces executive leadership team changes

UnitedHealth Group (UHG) announced today leadership changes consistent with its longstanding, intentional approach to developing an executive team with a range of experiences across its diverse portfolio of businesses and in ongoing service to its mission and the people it serves.
- Dr. Patrick Conway, M.D., current Optum Rx CEO, will become Optum chief executive officer. Dr. Conway has held senior leadership roles at Optum Rx and Optum Health and has an extensive background as a public and private health care leader and practicing pediatrician.
- Heather Cianfrocco, current Optum CEO, has been appointed UnitedHealth Group’s executive vice president of Governance, Compliance and Information Security. Heather’s deep knowledge of our business from her experience in senior leadership roles across UnitedHealthcare and Optum, coupled with a decade working as a lawyer, will continue the company’s commitment to strong governance and ethical oversight of our operations.
The changes are effective May 6.
